A Proud Wifey

Right as I type my husband is flying a black hawk for the first time! He has been waiting for this moment since he was a little boy. Then at 18 he joined the military, at 21 he got eye surgery, at 23 he deployed, at 24 he began flight school and now at 25 he is finally flying a black hawk! I am overjoyed. He has worked so hard for this and I love being able to see his dreams come true. I am a very proud wifey.

A Fancy Schmancy Party

With my Favorite People.

This weekend some friends and I put together  A Fancy Schmancy White Elephant Party.

We made some DElicious ((festive)) food, created a christmas playlist,

cut out some props and put on our fancy schmancy clothes.

I loved every second. They really are the best friends a girl could ask for! :)

Its beginning

to look a lot like Christmas!

The tree is up, the ornaments are out and my small collection of Christmas decor is now put in place.

I love it. It really is the most wonderful time of the year!

Last night the husband and I sat around the tree ((in our onesies)),with paines cedar incense burning, a fire burning ((on the tv)), and a glass of eggnog in hand. It really was the best.

A Onesie Christmas Party

Hi friends!

I had a lovely weekend filled with friends and Christmas parties! ((I believe every weekend should be filled with Christmas parties, don't you?))

On Friday night the husband and I attended a christmas pajama/bonfire/s'mores party.. and it was delightful.

Then on Saturday we went to a favorite things party. I really struggled with what to include in my favorite things. There are so many little things in each day that I find lovely. In the end I went with..
a mason jar, fresh flowers, a tyler candle, and tyler detergent.

Although if I could have added one more thing it would have definitely been a bottle of red wine.

Sunday was a day for relaxation, crafts, and watching movies with the husband.

Overall, I would say the weekend was a success!

What would your four favorite things be?

Gift Wrapping

I love wrapping presents! There are so many wonderful ideas out there, but this year I am especially loving the idea of adding natural elements to my presents.

Other elements I am really loving this year are

I have slowly started wrapping my presents and I must say they look lovely under my ((rather large)) tree!

Have you started wrapping yet?

A Griswold Christmas

This was a big year for us.

We were able to buy our FIRST Christmas tree as a married couple.

Needless to say.. we were excited.

One might say a little TOO excited.

We quickly decided that because this was our first tree.. we wanted a big one! Did we measure the
tree? no. Did we measure our ceiling? nope. But we had found our tree!

One can guess what happened next.

When we got home we realized this lovely tree of ours was WAY to big for our home. It not only was touching the ceiling but it was also covering up my bar.

We then had to trim the trunk ((after going to lowes and buying a saw)), trim the top ((while I am IN the tree trying to hold it in place)), then moved the bar and placed the tree in the far back corner.

Thankfully it works. It is large. It is very out of place.  It only has three ornaments. But I kind of love it that way...because it is our first tree :).

A lovely thanksgiving..

spent with the dearest of friends.

Our lovely day started out with baking pies

carving a delicious turkey

and decorating ((lots of decorating!!))

For the seating.. I decided banquet would be the best option. I love having all of my favorite people close by!

For the tablecloth I used Kraft paper and drew the place mats ((we have a limited supply of linens so this ended up being a great option!))

for the seating chart I put an envelope on each plate and it included a note telling each guest why I was thankful for them

The last item that was needed was mason jars. In my opinion.. mason jars are an important aspect of every get together ;)

Ok. Now for the festivities..

We spent the day hanging outside on rocking chairs.. in flannel

and watching the football game. ((we had a lot of football fans!))

After the game, we sat down for the best part of the day.. the food. the fellowship. and the wine.

then came the dessert ((Three pumpkin and one pecan pie.. yes please!!))

While eating.. some of the guests wrote what they were thankful for. My favorite list was from Logan.. he is two.  ((My husband made it on the list!! I too would put Ben on my list, Logan. He is pretty great.))

I ended the day in my backyard. Surrounded by friends. Warming by a bonfire. With Apple Cider in my hand. Baby Cuddles. And a Thankful Heart.

Hope you all had a lovely thanksgiving!
