I tend to repeat items in my closet often. The staples in my closet at times can be expensive ((my riding boots)) but I only own two pair and have worn them for years. I have found this to be a trend in my life. Friends have commented in the past how small my closet is, but I have realized I prefer it that way. I prefer to spend money on fewer quality items that I love rather than having a larger quantity and a variety of clothing options.
What is in your closet? Do you go for fewer quality pieces, do you like variety in your closet, or are you the lucky one with quality AND a large closet??

IN LOVE WITH THOSE BOOTS!! =)
ReplyDeleteI love this look... And alas, I am usually guilty of stuffing my closet to the max. I need to take a page from your book of simplicity. :)
ReplyDeleteYou are adorbs!
ReplyDeleteI think my husband would I appreciate it if I was more about quality than quantity. Haha. You are beautiful and you know I love your clothes. That is all...
ReplyDeleteThat outfit is cute! I've heard good things about American Apparel Ted's , I need to get some! I love basic tee shirts!
ReplyDeleteI tend to always have a small closet with quality pieces, and random thrift finds. So I can relate. Love that hat though. Super cute.
ReplyDeleteso cute and love the hat.
ReplyDeleteyou look so cute in that hat!! I am getting better at the quality over quantity thing! :)
ReplyDeleteI have some boots like that! Bought them a few years ago and am literally wearing them to pieces.

You look beautiful!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute outfit! I agree, I would rather have quality over quantity. In the long run, you end up spending the same because the cheaper things wear out and need replacing!
ReplyDeleteI'll wear the same stuff for years if the quality is good. But I also like cheap things, like cheap shoes, so in that case I have quantity.
ReplyDeleteriding boots are a must and you have to shell out a little dough for them. I love yours and i think mine are my favorite item in my closet as well!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the boots!!! And I definitely have wayyyyyy too many clothes, and am guilty of buying for the sake of buying, yikes. I've gotten much much better at it, thanks to... well... getting married! haha

You have a beautiful blog! I absolutely adore that header and would probably give away a favorite item of clothing if I could convince my husband to wear suspenders. And that's saying a lot. I. Love. My. Clothes. You have great style, and having remixable staples is a great way to work your closet to its full capacity. I have 3 closets. I'll let you be the judge of the size of my clothing collection :)
ReplyDeleteFollowing along now thanks to the Pleated Poppy!

this is such a cute, relaxed outfit. i actually have a total overload of clothes, and it can get very overwhelming. but a trick that i do to not repeat the same items over and over is to stash away what i already wore- that way my closet gets smaller and i get a chance to use everything :)
ReplyDeleteI love this simple relaxed look. I really am with you on expensive pieces like that. I try to wear them sparingly but make them have regular appearances! Love it! And I'm sure I've said this before, but your blog is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteStopping by from the link up! Happy Wednesday!

love the boots!!
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with you. The pieces I wear the most often are ones that are the priciest. It's better to do it that way, I think!!
ReplyDeleteMy riding boots are also a staple of mine. They were about $80 and I almost fainted from the price, but I've seriously worn them almost every day in the fall/winter for the past 5 years.
I def like some variety. =)
ReplyDeletecute!
ReplyDeleteThat outfit is too cute!
ReplyDeleteI guess I do a little bit of both. Now since I've become a mom, my son has more clothes than I do! ;)
You are a natural beauty!
ReplyDeleteYou look so pretty! Love your hair and that hat and boots! I wish I was like you but im always shopping haha so i have a large closet with few quality items.

I love your hair! It is such a pretty color!
ReplyDeleteI also nominated you for this thing going on called the Liebster Award and all the rules and what not are on my blog but it is basically for smaller blogs of 200 followers or less to help find each others blogs. Kind of fun and a great way to meet other bloggers :)
I love that look! It's so laid-back and cute!
ReplyDeletestopping by from wiww... i love your outfit! that hat looks perfect with your hair... so cute!
ReplyDeleteYou look so cute! I like to err on the side of quality...I need some variety though. But with shoes I definitely prefer quality--they'll last forever and you'll enjoy wearing them more--cheap shoes tend to hurt my feet.
ReplyDeleteTotally agree on the quality over quantity view. I've been trying to scale back my closet and not give in to a good deal that I only wear once.
ReplyDeleteI am sooo in about quality vs. quanity. love your example of the riding boots, I have a pair of fryes and I feel the same way. we get so caught up in all of the "Stuff" when we could have nicer things if we just focused on quality.
ReplyDeleteI have a lot of low quality clothes that have accumulated in the past, and have started to really be more mindful of the things I buy. I agree, investment in quality clothes is definitely worth the money! I have also gotten into thrifting as well, where I've found some quality items for way cheap (a 100% silk blouse for $4!).

Just found your blog via WIWW and I LOVE it! Your newest followe...looking forward to it!

I agree - quality over quantity. Plus, why spend money on something just to wear it once every six months?
ReplyDeleteI looooove that chambray shirt!
ReplyDeleteI'm convinced the right pair of jeans will make or break your wardrobe! I live in my 3 favorites and rarely even touch my other pants.
