For my birthday this year, my husband surprised me with a Canon Rebel T3i. You guys, I am in love! I love being able to capture the little moments in each day. However, there is still so much that I need to learn and when I saw this photo challenge I immediately knew I wanted to join in. This will be the perfect excuse to get my camera out, get more comfortable with the settings and take more pictures. Check back at the end of each week for the photos that I have taken!

Studio Living

The husband and I only have two more months here in Bama. He will soon be graduating from flight school and we will then be heading back to California!

While it is still just the two of us ((plus our lovely pup)) we are thinking that a studio might be the best option for us.

It is not easy fitting everything into a studio and I love decorating so I have already begun looking at pinterest for inspiration!

A Novel

When I am really into a novel, I'm seeing the world differently during that time-not just for the hour or so in the day when I get to read. I'm actually walking around in a bit of a haze, spellbound by the book and looking at everything through a different prism. - Colin Firth

I love this quote and could not agree more. There is something so lovely about getting lost in a good book. In my opinion, the best way to end the day is with a good book and a glass of red wine in my hand! 

I am currently looking for new books to read.. any suggestions?

Be Kind

I am always amazed at how a kind word can change my outlook for the day. Because of this I always try to say kind and thoughtful things whenever they come to my mind. If my husband does something nice for me...I try to thank him. When I am proud of him.. I tell him. Whenever I am thinking I love you.. I try to say it out loud. If I like my friends shirt... I will tell her. If I miss one of my friends from back home.. I will text them and mention that I am thinking of them. 

It really has made quite the difference!

So on this sunday.. Be Kind.. because you can make someones day ;)

Game Night

While staying at the Condo, Cranium was our game of choice. I had never played this before, but now I am a big fan!  The first night we played Boys vs Girls and the second we played as couples. I loved playing as a couple. It was quite entertaining watching my husband have to act things out! I must say.. we made quite the team ((even though we lost!)) We will get them next time sweety ;)

A Birthday Fiesta

One of my besties had a birthday this month and that called for a celebration. We had so much fun getting together, eating delicious tacos, drinking coronas and margaritas, and hanging out by the bonfire.

Two posts in one day... I believe this is a record! I loved the topic this week with sunday social and wanted to join in.

The Questions were...

1. What is the name of your blog? How long have you been blogging? I named my blog anna lizbeth: my life and other lovely things. I wanted the name to be a direct reflection of what I would be writing about! I have been blogging for six months now.  

2. Why do you blog? I love this little blog of mine. I have realized that this blog allows me to enjoy my life more. I now take notice of the little things that I see each day and find beauty in them. I have also loved having a place to record all that has happened this year. We will be moving here shortly and it will be such a blessing to be able to look back and see all of memories we have made and the faces of friends we met. Lastly, I have loved being able to get to know fellow bloggers. It is such a wonderful community! 

3. What is the first blog you ever followed? The first blog I followed was Candace at Hippie at Heart. She is a dear friend who introduced me to the wonderful world of blogging. Thanks friend! 

4. What is your favorite post you wrote in 2012? I love entertaining in my home. Its my favorite. I love having everyone I love under my roof. I love decorating. I love cooking. I even love serving! Because of this.. my favorite posts would have to be the about..

Merry Times

As we all get older it seems that each year it becomes a little more difficult to get the whole family together for the holidays. This year I made it my mission to get us all under one roof. After literally a day of phone calls, we figured out a way for us all to spend the night.  Not only for one night..but two! 

On our "Christmas" morning, the family thought it would be funny to have a pair of glasses like mine. This photo ended up being our family Christmas card... magnified glasses and greasy hair.  Aren't we cute. 

The day was spent opening presents, 

enjoying each others company,

drinking wine,

napping,

 and bowling,

 I loved every second.

Siblings

I loved being in Texas for the Holidays. Mainly because this meant I was able to spend time with siblings.  I have missed them greatly. I loved going to dinner with them, reminiscing with them and laughing with them. I am beyond grateful for the times that we are able to spend together.

A Lovely Christmas

We started out the morning in onesies, ate delicious food and opened presents. Lots of presents.

and then... you guys.. It Snowed!!!!!

This is not something that happens in Texas, especially on Christmas. I was overjoyed and frolicked.. a lot. 

and then.. we played games.

and papa won!!

Which made me very happy. 

I had such a wonderful Christmas with my in-laws. I feel so blessed to be a part of their loving family!
