When I am really into a novel, I'm seeing the world differently during that time-not just for the hour or so in the day when I get to read. I'm actually walking around in a bit of a haze, spellbound by the book and looking at everything through a different prism. - Colin Firth
I love this quote and could not agree more. There is something so lovely about getting lost in a good book. In my opinion, the best way to end the day is with a good book and a glass of red wine in my hand!
I am currently looking for new books to read.. any suggestions?

I just read The Fault in Our Stars and The Age of Miracles. Both very good and fairly quick reads. The Fault is sad but written so beautifully. Anything by Louise Erdrich is also a good read.
ReplyDeleteI just came home from the hospital with a new baby (!!!) and have been loving "Wild" by Cheryl Strayed during the many hours of quiet with my little boy. It's engrossing, even if Strayed is anything but a heroine.
ReplyDeleteThe Rules of Civility, Tigers in Red Weather, The Fault in Our Stars, The Paris Wife, any of Jonathan Tropper's novels, Domestic Violets.
ReplyDeleteLove this quote! I have been slogging through All the President's Men for literally months now (I don't have much time to read these days). It's an interesting read, but only recently got good enough for me to really get invested, and now I'm (finally) dying to finish it. I definitely second the Jonathan Tropper recommendation too -- he is great!
ReplyDeleteI spent all last year reading the Song of Ice and Fire series! Sooo long, but definitely worth it. Amazingly awesome books and you totally get lost in them. Other than that...I read a book called "The White Tiger" recently that was really interesting. And..."Jane Eyre." Because it's one of my favs. :-)
ReplyDeleteI totally agree. Reading novels are great way of keeping you away from your worries.

I just finished the Hunger Games series. VERY quick read. Looking for something too!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite book from 2012 was The Night Circus. It was captivating and imaginative and simply amazing!!

I just read 'The Next Always' by Nora Roberts. It was really good. I couldn't put it down. I also highly recommend any of Kate Morton's books. They are very enjoyable. I just discovered her for the first time a couple of months ago, but she is easily becoming one of my favorite authors. :)
ReplyDeleteI just finished Age of Miracles which was a quick read, but I really enjoyed it. My book club is discussing it next week.
